Software Tools

Computer tools for which training can be provided include:
Word processing: This is the most common office application. The training focuses on Microsoft Word, but is presented generically to permit application to a broad range of tools.
Page layout, presentation: Page layout (Microsoft Publisher) and presentation (Microsoft PowerPoint) are two examples of specialized application of word processing tools.
E-mail: Generic training on proper E-mail techniques is often included with word processing training. I do not train on specific tools.
Spreadsheets: Spreadsheets such as Microsoft Excel are typically the second office applications of interest. They are most often used when numbers must be manipulated.
Database: Most users do not need training in databases, although they often use databases through other front-end applications. If, however, one finds they must create and maintain a small database, Microsoft Access is often a suitable and available tool.
