The ATS requires additional barcode labels beyond what is available on the hardware as delivered by ES&S. In addition it is recommended that additional human-readable labels be added to improve work flow and efficiency. |

| Most of the labels are needed initially when setting up ATS, a one-time, initial setup. For this reason, you may choose to share a label printer with another application, or make use of the labeling service by CSTS. | |
| Dymo has several models that print barcodes on ˝-inch D1-type labels (for example the LabelManager PC II at about $70.) Other equivalent models or other manufacturers’ products are also available. Note that the printer need not communicate with the computer; however, make sure it can print barcodes (e.g., Code 39). | |
| Black on yellow labels are recommended as a usable good-looking label on the hardware. | |
